Competitors

The Competitors section of the Social Business Canva is all about helping you learn about other organizations that offer similar programs, products, or services to your own. By understanding your competitors, you can figure out how to stand out in the market and identify opportunities for growth.

Use the following questions to help you analyze your competitors and develop a competitive strategy:

  • Who are your competitors?
  • What do they offer that is similar to what your social enterprise offers?
  • What makes your social enterprise different from your competitors?
  • How do your prices compare to your competitors?
  • How do your customers or beneficiaries perceive your organization compared to other organizations that provide similar products/services?
  • What can you learn from your competitors?

Guidance

To help you analyze your competitors and to fill in the table please follow these tips:

  • Competitor Name: The name of the organization that is a competitor to your social enterprise.
  • Products, Services, or Programs Offered: A brief description of what the competitor offers, what is similar or different to what your organization offers, how different is the associate benefits, how different are the prices.
  • Target Groups/Market: The group of people or organizations that the competitor is trying to reach with their offerings. These might be customers or beneficiaries, at local, national or international level
  • Strength: What the competitor does well or what sets them apart in the market/target groups.
  • Weakness: Areas where the competitor may be lacking or where they could improve.
