Social Impact Measurement

In the Social Impact Measurement section, you’ll figure out how to see if your social enterprise is making a difference. This means deciding what you hope to achieve with your project, and finding ways to measure it. You’ll come up with specific things to track, like goals, results, and changes, and plan how you’ll collect and look at the data. Doing this will help you see if you’re on the right track and what you can do to make your project even better.

Use the following questions to guide your social impact measurement:

  • How can your project influence the society, the local economy, and the environment?
  • What will we look at to see if our project is having the effect we want?
  • Who will be affected by our project?
  • How will we collect data about our project’s impact?
  • How will we use this data to learn and improve?

Tips for filling in the Social Impact Measurement field:

In this step you have to define the outcomes and you need to monitor your impact. “Outcomes in numbers” refers to the results of your social enterprise that can be quantified and measured. For example, the number of actions implemented, number of beneficiaries, funds raised, etc. “Outcomes that cannot be measured” refers to the results that are more subjective and can be described. For example, the level of service and satisfaction of the beneficiaries. The outcomes might refer to social, economic and environmental. To monitor and evaluate these outcomes you may use surveys, feedback, polls, reports, financial analysis, etc.
